Rex Tillerson concluded his first trip to Asia as secretary of state, sounding optimistic about the prospects for US cooperation with China on the North Korean nuclear issue. While China has agreed reluctantly to U.N. Security Council resolutions sanctioning North Korea, it is adamantly opposed to measures that might bring about a collapse of the North Korean regime and send waves of refugees into northeastern China while South Korean and American forces take up positions on its border. Sky News said Kim Jong Nam's body, along with three North Korean agents, was taken to China and transferred to another plane for the trip back to Pyongyang. Malaysian authorities said they had the right to conduct an autopsy as he had been killed on Malaysian soil, and that they would only release the body to Mr Kim's family. (more...)
