German police arrested two Syrians and a Bosnian Thursday for alleged war crimes in Syria, including mass murder of 36 people in 2013. The statement says he carried out so-called Shariah death sentences. These actions may be treated as war crimes. In Germany, suspects are only identified by their first name and initials. The girl, who earlier this month gave birth to a boy, had initially said her own father was the parent of the newborn. The girl is reported to have told the police that the priest had sexually abused her repeatedly in the Church. Aside, a case has also been registered against the private hospital for not informing the police about the childbirth. A Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) review team has since been assessing the city's response and is set to present to the CGF Executive Board at a meeting due to take place in London on March 10 and 11. The Games - which were awarded to Durban in 2015 - had been earmarked to start on July 18, the late Nelson Mandela's birthday. It is estimated that Durban would have to pay 8.2 billion rand (£507.2 million/$630.1 million/€594.6 million) to host the event. (more...)
