China's Caixin manufacturing PMI hits six-month high

China official Manufacturing and Non-manufacturing PMIs(August) coming up today - preview

Britain's manufacturers saw growth surge in August as new orders from both the U.S. and Europe flooded into the country and supported the sector, according to the latest PMI reading from IHS Markit.

Data compiler IHS Markit said its final purchasing managers' index rose to 55.8 in August from 54.9 in July, unchanged from a preliminary estimate.

Any number above 50 suggests growth in the sector's activity.

The latest figure signaled the third successive improvement in Greek manufacturing sector conditions, and the sharpest since August 2008.

The Brexit-hit pound was pinpointed as key factor in attracting foreign buyers to British products, with firms seeing new export work from mainland Europe, USA, China and Australia.

The closely watched Markit/CIPS UK Manufacturing PMI barometer of factory sentiment showed activity jumped to 56.9 last month from 55.3 in July, the second-highest level in more than three years.

Police Confirm Body Found Is Savanna Greywind
Fargo Chief of Police David Todd said the baby was discovered while investigators executed a search warrant at the residence. They had previously been arrested when a two-day-old baby, believed to be Greywind's daughter, was found in their apartment.

New export business also rose, however at the slowest pace in the current three-month period of growth.

Input prices increased at a faster pace for the first time in 7 months while there was a slight slowdown in the rate of increase for output prices.

"Output charges were raised marginally and at a rate that was muted in the context of historical data", Lima said. However, nearly 31% of companies said they experienced an increase in the price of materials required for their operations, generally linked to the rising cost of commodities. However, the rate of increase remained well below the record high seen at the start of the year.

It came as household spending slumped to its lowest level in almost three years following a slowdown in new auto sales and persistent pressure from higher inflation.

Markit said the breadth of expansion made it look more likely that United Kingdom manufacturing would continue to grow over the second half of the year.
