"Ready Player One" marks a return to Warner Bros. for Spielberg, who previously directed the studio's "Empire of the Sun", "The Color Purple" and "A.I".

Visionary and masterful director Steven Spielberg was at Comic Con earlier today to talk about his newest film Ready Player One and give the audience a peak of the movie.

To coincide with the 2017 San Diego Comic Con, Warner Bros. has released the first teaser trailer for Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One. Man, when this movie comes out in 2018, the theater is gonna be drowning in whispers of "Oh hey it's that thing!"

The trailer also features a wealth of popular culture cameos, including The Iron Giant and one blink-and-you'll-miss-it jump from Freddy Krueger. The story follows Wade Watts as he searches for an Easter egg that will forever change his life and the world. The film is being produced by Spielberg; Donald De Line, under his De Line Pictures banner; Dan Farah; and Spielberg's longtime colleague Kristie Macosko Krieger; with Bruce Berman serving as executive producer. Cline co-wrote the script with Zak Penn. Starring Tye Sheridan, Simon Pegg, TJ Miller and Olivia Cooke, the cast will have the challenge of living up to the source material and filmmaker.
