Microsoft reorganizes sales efforts; layoffs loom

Microsoft to lay off thousands of employees worldwide to restructure its sales force

The reports suggest that thousands of staff could be made redundant, with an official announcement coming later this week. In 2016, the Seattle Times reported that Microsoft cut 2,850 jobs.

However, the unfortunate flipside is that this reorganisation will likely involve massive layoffs and job cuts.

The truest report would be from Microsoft authorities themselves but they have not come up with any statement related to dismissals or the quantity of them.

But Microsoft may not play second fiddle anymore, assuming the re-org achieves the efficiency with which Microsoft's sales teams can sell cloud software.

The reorganisation is expected to refine the sales roles, whilst also boosting the sales group's focus on delivering cloud computing services at a wide scale.

China's Xi: No tolerance for subversion in Hong Kong
They were demanding greater voting rights for Hong Kong , as well the immediate release of the Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo . Pro-democracy Hong Kongers like Mr Ng would like the city's people to be able to nominate their own candidate.

Microsoft is at it again and this it time it may spell misery for thousands of employees under its sales team banner as the company tries to adapt to changing trends in the IT industry and keep itself profitable.

The post Microsoft's Shift to Cloud Services: "Good" for Company But "Bad" for Employees appeared first on Market Exclusive. Cloud revenue per employee is lower than the company would like, some people close to the matter said. Executives Jean-Philippe Courtois and Judson Althoff took charge of the company's marketing and sales divisions after the exit of COO Kevin Turner previous year.

A spokesperson for Microsoft Australia said only that the company is "implementing changes to better serve our customers and partners". After long-serving COO Kevin Turner departed from the organisation past year, Judson Althoff and Jean-Philippe Cortois were handed control of the tech firm's largest workforce group.

Microsoft is to release its earnings for the recently-ended quarter on 20 July. Nadella said, "From large multinationals to small and medium businesses to non-profits all over the world, organisations are using Microsoft's cloud platforms to power their digital transformation".

Considering that the end of Microsoft's fiscal year falls on July, the overhaul is actually right on schedule.
