Senior White House officials reportedly found Trump's CNN video 'funny'

Trump repeats 'fake news' theme to Washington supporters

CNN has accused Donald Trump of "encouraging violence against reporters", after the President tweeted a video of him wrestling a man with the TV network's logo over his face.

Twitter has said Donald Trump's tweet of a wrestling video does not violate its rules.

The 28-second-long video appears to be an edited clip from Trump's appearance in Wrestlemania from a decade ago.

This is not President Trump's first attack on media outlets, he has been attacking the media since the beginning of his campaign calling several media outlets like New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN and MSNBC "Fake News". Trump for years has maintained that he believes the mainstream media is dishonest, but his rhetoric against them has sailed to new levels since he became president.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders has claimed "the President in no way, form or fashion has ever promoted or encouraged violence".

And CNN responded with a fiery tweet of its own on Sunday: "CNN statement responding to the president: "We will keep doing our jobs. He should start doing his", the statement added".

Lyon 'do not think' Arsenal target Lacazette will leave
Lyon finished fourth in Ligue 1 last season and star striker Alexandre Lacazette has been strongly linked with an exit. The FC panel discuss the lack of love for Gareth Bale at Real Madrid and wonder if it's time for him to make a move.

"No one would perceive that as a threat", he calmly told Raddatz. The tweet was accompanied by the caption: #FraudNewsCNN and #FNN [Fake News Network].

White House officials traveling with Mr. Trump during his weekend stay at his New Jersey golf club didn't immediately respond to questions about the video. "I hope they don't", Bossert said on the ABC program "This Week".

The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, a group that advocates for journalists' rights, condemned the president's tweet and said it "glorified physical violence against members of the press".

USA homeland security adviser Thomas Bossert defended Trump's video, saying it demonstrated the president's "genuine ability to communicate to the people". "Make America Great Again!" he tweeted on Saturday.

Trump's tweet spread like wildfire across the internet.

"Trump's social media use has drawn increased uproar and repeated polls show a majority of Americans are uncomfortable with his Twitter attacks on critics", he writes.
