Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons take shots at Ball family following Lakers' pick

Lonzo Ball Says He Doesn't Know Lakers' Plan for 2017 NBA Draft

The choice that seemed inevitable is the one the Lakers made.

Not too long after the Los Angeles Lakers took Ball with the No. 2 overall pick in the National Basketball Association draft?- and?after his father, LaVar, declared to ESPN's Jeff Goodman that the Lakers would be playoff-bound in 2018 -?

Look for the Lakers to continue to build around their young core led by forward Brandon Ingram and Ball while attempting to secure the services of forward Paul George through a possible sign and trade.

For a time, there appeared to be a genuine split within the Lakers as whether to draft Ball or Jackson, but as the Draft approached, the Lakers began settling in on Ball as their man. But Lonzo has a lot to show and prove as a springboard for what the Ball brothers can do.

The Venom Movie And Spider-Man: Homecoming Might Be Connected After All
Whenever it does end up releasing , the eight minutes of gameplay that we got at E3 was enough to sell many people on the game. Venom (starring Tom Hardy in the lead role) and Silver & Black stand-alone films have been announced.

After that bit of serendipity, the Lakers made their plans for Ball well-known earlier this week when they agreed to trade point guard D'Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets. DEVELOPING: We will update this story as the draft continues.

Ball will begin to answer those questions when he plays on the Lakers' Summer League team in July, but true clarity won't emerge until the 2017-18 season.

At UCLA, Ball averaged 14.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game in 35.1 minutes per game.
