Messaging app Hike rolls out payment wallet

Hike Messenger has launched the new Hike 5.0 featuring Hike Wallet, the first payment feature in a messaging app.

The company is calling the wallet feature as Hike Wallet, which will be rolled out to Android devices first, and iOS users will get it by the end of July.

The company will measure the consumer demand through the number of mobile recharges its over 100 million base will do, through the wallet backed by Yes Bank, which is integrated with the unique payment interface (UPI).

Another important aspect of the digital payments feature is the Blue Packet, an envelope where users can insert money and send it to their friends. Users can choose from 10 well-crafted virtual envelopes and add their personal message to it.

The Hike 5.0 update also includes a new Magic Selfie feature, which is a beautification feature working on machine learning technology. "Hike 5.0 is our most ambitious step in that direction till date." said Kavin Bharti Mittal, Founder and CEO, Hike Messenger.

A "Blue Packet" can be sent to an individual or even a group of friends and users can select how many people in the group should get it.

Baltimore Orioles select DL Hall 21st Overall
Hall also slashed.349/.439/.674 with 11 doubles, a triple, five home runs and 33 RBIs as Valdosta's No. 3 hitter. Romero posted a 3.51 ERA, 20 walks, 85 Ks, and a.256 BAA in 10 games (seven starts) and 48 2⁄3 IP this season.

"Hike 5.0 is the biggest update we have released in the history of Hike".

The Hike has partnered Indian private sector lender Yes Bank to facilitate money transfers to banks using the UPI system, Mittal said.

Hike 5.0 now features a new slick look, with an emphasis on personalisation with App Themes. Can money be the new Sticker?

For those who love staying up late and chatting in the darkness, the app has dedicated a theme called "Night" theme, wherein the users will be enabled to save their battery at night as it reduces the glare coming off the screen. Our users celebrate so many special moments in their lives.

On popular demand, Hike has also brought back Timeline in its original form. This partnership will instantly provide UPI access to over 100 million Hike users and provide a significant fillip to India's digital payments ecosystem.

"No doubt payments have to be ubiquitous, so within four to five years, we will very likely have ticket bookings etc, not sure whether we will have it in 2017", Mittal said, adding that over time the app will have more transactional services if the demand is high. "We're really excited about the possibilities with this and can't wait to see how people use it".
