Teary-eyed Grande returns to stage for One Love Manchester concert

Sunday's concert raised money for victims of the suicide bombing that struck at Grande's show on May 22.

Before her performance, she and her dancers held hands in solidarity.

Other performers will include Pharrell Williams, Usher, the Black Eyed Peas, Robbie Williams and Niall Horan.

Gallagher, formerly of Oasis, earned loud cheers from the audience as he emerged in his home town in surprise form. Police officers danced, medics sang along and one lively steward encouraged the crowd to clap and dance.

Many in the crowd were in tears as Grande sang with a choir from Parrs Wood High School.

"So that means that we had a totally different show planned and we had a rehearsal yesterday where we changed everything and this evening has been so light and so filled with fun and love and bright energy and I want to thank you for that". I love you so so much. "She would've wanted to hear the hits".

It wasn't just the fans who got into the spirit of the show.

I think the kind of love you're displaying is the kind of medicine the world needs now". Justin Bieber and Coldplay are also scheduled to perform.

"I don't want to feel or hear or see any fear in this building", USA singer Pharrell Williams told the crowd as he led them in a rendition of his hit single "Happy". "All we feel here tonight is love, resilience, positivity", said Pharrel Williams, who performed alongside Miley Cyrus.

"Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this", singer Gary Barlow said.

A further terrorist attack in London on Saturday night had led to speculation that Ariana may pull the plug on the concert, but the singer opted to stand strong in the face of the attackers.

US President Donald Trump came under fire on Sunday for criticising London's mayor in the aftermath of attacks in the city that killed seven people and injured at least 48 others. Authorities have said the attack started with a van plowing into pedestrians and then involved three men using large knives to attack people in bars and restaurants at a nearby market.

Grande was all about love during the concert as her 25-year-old boyfriend Miller joined her on stage.
