Wet forecast for the weekend's Strawberry Festival

A shower or two this morning much cooler and less humid today and tomorrow

Sunday Night. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m.

Thursday, a few isolated storms may develop during the afternoon as moisture wraps around the backside of an area of low pressure pulling away from the Mid-Atlantic coastline. Anywhere along this line, there could be some gusty winds 35-45mph, locally heavy rain, and perhaps some small hail. In the afternoon we'll see cloud cover return, but not before we warm the air into the mid to upper 60s through the area. It said severe weather wasn't expected, but there could be strong winds and hail. Winds will be blowing fairly strong around 15 miles per hour out of the south. With so many outdoor plans for the holiday weekend, our meteorologists will be providing more updates throughout the week and alert you of any changes in the forecast.

Have a great night! The winds will however, turn back to the south Thursday. Saturday night skies will be mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the mid-60s and there will be a 10-20 percent chance of thundershowers for southeastern parts of the Big Country.

Thursday morning's chill will give way to warm afternoon highs in the upper 70s under sunny skies.

Computer models show more showers moving north overnight Wednesday night. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75.

Saturday, May 27 - Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 74. Southeast wind 3 to 8 miles per hour. A veil of high clouds dimmed the sun most of the day and that kept temperatures on the cooler side of normal, but not by very much.
