Spurs' Leonard expects to play in Game 6 despite ankle injury

Basketball: Leonard expected to play

With 9.3 seconds left in over-time the San Antonio Spurs, defeated the Houston Rockets 110-107.

Leonard, who sprained his left ankle in Tuesday night's thrilling overtime win against the Rockets, said after the game that he would play.

The main concern for the Spurs, however, is the extent of Leonard's injury. As a team, the Rockets shot 44 percent from the field and 16 of 48 from the three-point line, but in the final five minutes of regulation and overtime, the Rockets leaned heavily on Harden who had just four points with four turnovers.

The Spurs' MVP candidate was hurt when he stepped on James Harden's foot about midway through the third quarter of a Game 5 win that put San Antonio up 3-2 on Tuesday. Breaking news, severe weather, daily forecasts, entertainment news, all of the day's important events to keep you up to date wherever you are.

"Kawhi's out", coach Gregg Popovich said before the game Thursday. If the San Antonio Spurs don't have Leonard, it should be obvious the Spurs won't win anything.

Leonard (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for Game 6 against the Rockets on Thursday, Paul Garcia of Project Spurs reports.

Chelsea Manning to be released from prison next week
Manning had served seven years of a 35-year stretch when outgoing president Barack Obama commuted her sentence earlier this year. After being punished with solitary confinement for the first suicide attempt , Manning tried to commit suicide again in October.

Well, we finally got a decent game last night, for the first time in what feels like forever. "It was frustrating because I wanted to play".

"We went to him with Kawhi off the court and asked him to make some things happen, generate some offence". He had a chance at a potential tying 3-pointer in the final seconds of OT, but was blocked from behind by Manu Ginobili.

Simmons fought over screens all night and was able to use his length a couple times to poke the ball away from Harden from behind. If they go there with the mindset of coming back to San Antonio then it should be a seven game series.

"I just missed shots", Harden said.

One area that the Spurs still need to improve is giving up "open" and "wide open" three-point attempts. "I didn't think about it too much on the way here, but I'll think about it and I'll let you know tomorrow or the next day or maybe not". Popovich does an excellent job of mentoring and molding his players.
