After fierce war of words, Bouchard stuns Sharapova — Madrid Open

The plan should eat into the country’s jet fuel exports which rose to a record of 7,41,000 tonnes in March according to preliminary government data

Not losing to arch critic Eugenie Bouchard.

On Monday the Roland Garros organisers will take to Facebook Live to confirm what the situation is regarding Sharapova's chances in competing at the tournament.

Bouchard, who called Sharapova "a cheater" and said she should be banned for life from tennis, was a finalist in Wimbledon in 2014. "In a frosty press conference, Sharapova refused to distance herself from the words of her manager".

Bouchard was 0-4 previously against Sharapova.

The Canadian now plays Angelique Kerber on Wednesday.

Bouchard saw the five-time grand slam victor as her idol when she was growing up but her admiration vanished when Sharapova tested positive for the banned substance Meldonium at the 2016 Australian Open.

After she defeated Sharapova at the Mutua Madrid Open, Bouchard revealed that she drew added motivation from all the tennis players who wanted her to beat Sharapova. Sharapova saved two break points at 2-2, and broke with a forehand victor for 4-2. She claims a number of players on the tour told her privately they were rooting for her in the match. "That is what is going to win me more tournaments and more Grand Slams", Sharapova said, as quoted by Today. The Canadian, now ranked 60, prefers to see herself as the underdog despite the fact that she owns a 3-2 lifetime record over the German. But Bouchard's steady pressure paid off when she broke to love to go 4-3 up, only for Sharapova to hit instantly back.

"I've been part of this game for many years", said Sharapova.

Number eight seed Svetlana Kuznetsova also moved into the third round after fighting back from a set down against American Alison Riske 2-6, 7-6 (3), 6-2. 7Sport claims Bouchard showed Sharapova "ultimate disrespect" by failing to acknowledge a victor that struck the top of the net in the first set. At 2-2, she double faulted twice and was broken.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sales impress, fastest selling in franchise history
Prior to Switch's official reveal, the internet was abuzz with rumors surrounding the system and its upcoming library of games. And that's to say nothing of how games can be better built to accommodate people with disabilities and physical ailments.

"Sharapova is now marooned on 250 points with one tournament left before the entry "cut off" date for Wimbledon".

This intense match, in which every point was bitterly-and loudly-contested, reached its competitive peak early in the third set.

In the final game Bouchard earned a match point but lost the handle on a rollicking point when Sharapova's backhand clipped the tape and lured Bouchard into the net. She let her racket do the talking last night.

Bouchard faced the Russian for the first time since her critical comments, and she came out on top with a three-set win in the second round of the Madrid Open. Everything that surrounds myself, I don't really know a lot of it.

"I feel like it's still a learning experience, and it's still just getting back in the groove and understanding what I need to work on and improve, " she said. It was reduced to 15 months and, in October, the court of arbitration for sport said she was not an "intentional doper". In the end, the rust showed: Sharapova's game was there for stretches, and then it was gone, completely, for longer stretches. The 60th-ranked Canadian from Westmount, Que., had 21 break opportunities, converting five of them.

Is this a turnaround win for Bouchard?

This was only the Russian's second tournament since she served a 15-month ban for the use of banned substance meldonium.

Either way, this is the match that mattered most for Bouchard.
